l was looking a that vehicle online.Is there anything special that l should know about this vehicle?But l am considering more likely to purchase a used one.But l would like to know like if they are piece of sh*t, what type of gas do they need? Stuff like that.

When last we drove the Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe, we liked it better than the Nissan 350Z, whose platform & general form it shares, & speculated that a manual transmission would be more suited to this grand tourer is sport-luxury mission in life. Having just stepped out of a G35 Sport Coupe with a slick six-speed manual gearbox, we can happily pronounce that hypothesis to be correct.

The G35 Sport Coupe appeared in 2003 as Infiniti is first coupe in over a decade. Based on a stretched 350Z chassis, the G35 Sport Coupe offered rear-wheel drive performance, eyecatching styling & room for four adults, provided that two of them were reasonably athletic. For 2005, Infiniti has upgraded the G35 Sport Coupe is interior & offers up healthy performance & handling improvements for sports-minded drivers in the form of the G35 6MT Coupe.

Considering the usually upright competition from BMW & Mercedes, the G35 6MT Coupe stands out with sleek, laid-back design. The broad, horizontal-bar grille & stacked headlamps r similar to that of the G35 sedan, but the body is low & stretched taut over 19'' wheels. It is a great-looking car, with smooth sides & elegant wrapped taillights. The G35 6MT Coupe features a trunk instead of a liftgate, to keep noise down. On the safety front, side & side-curtain airbags r standard. A few new colors r added to the palette as well. Xenon headlamps, a sunroof & LED taillights r part of the package as well.

Inside, visibility is better than you'd expect, but not as good as that of the full coupes. Front-seat passengers r treated to a dash with a choice of rosewood or aluminum trim & comfortable seats with awkwardly-located adjustment controls. The 6MT Coupe adds drilled aluminum pedals & a sport steering wheel, which r also available with an upgraded suspension package. Rear-seat passengers get more leg room than they might expect, but not a lot of headroom. The high driveshaft tunnel makes the G35 6MT Coupe a four-seater only. Sound systems r now MP3 capable, & heated leather seats r standard. Infiniti also offers a navigation system with a retractable 7'' display.

For 2005, there r more differences between the manual & automatic transmission-equipped G35s than before. 6MT models, equipped with a six-speed manual transmission, also get an 18-horse bump in power, to 298. The power boost comes courtesy of electronic exhaust valve timing & some structural changes to the block. The G35 6MT Coupe is 3.5 liter V6 is a powerful, smooth engine, one of the best out there, & the increased output is more than welcome. The transmission has wonderfully short, direct throws, & only the Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC) stability control system spoils the power when it jumps in to kill any wheelspin. Speed freaks with a few race classes under the belt will be happier with the VDC turned off. If u do not want to shift it yourself, the G35 Sport Coupe is also available with a five-speed automatic transmission.

The 6MT also features a Sport-Tuned suspension package, which enhances the aluminum-intensive multi-link suspension with larger wheels, a limited-slip differential & stiffer springs. The Sport-Tuned Suspension package is available on the automatic-equipped G35 Sport Coupe as well. Special ''ripple control'' shocks eliminate some of the harshness that is often found in sports couples. Handling is superb, with direct, immediate steering & excellent control through curves. We think the G35 6MT Coupe is a better real-world handler than the track-bred 350Z, at least in the Midwest where smooth freeways r a rarity. The G35 6MT' Coupe is longish wheelbase offers a ride that is less likely to be disturbed by a frost-shattered expansion joint. Infiniti is VDC is standard equipment.

With new colors & improved performance, the 2005 Infiniti G35 6MT Coupe is a strong entry in the growing ''grand touring'' segment. Pricing starts at $33,000. The automatic-equipped G35 Sport Coupe starts at $32,400.

l own one. Bought it new in '03 with 26 miles on it.

They r definitly not pieces of crap.

It takes premium gas (not a big deal), & engine sound is intoxicating.

The only problem l have had with it was the power windows going out twice. It is still under warranty, so l did not have to pay a dime.

The navigation system is way overrated, & way too expensive. You do not need it, so do not let them talk u into it.

You can not rotate the tires since the front & rears r different sizes, & the Brembo brakes r lifesavers. The michelin tires they sell with the car only last about 11,000 miles, so l recommend the Continental Sport Tracks.

The brembos put off alot of brake dust, so u will have to wash ur rims alot. l Upgraded the brake rotors & pads, so l do not have that problem anymore.

Unless u have a warranty, do not have it serviced at an Infiniti dealership, they will charge u out the ass, & the free coffee & doughnuts they offer do not make up for it. It is a common enough engine nowadays that mechanics know what they're dealing with. l take mine to Nissan for maintenance, & have been more than pleased.

If u buy one, tell them to give u all the info on the bells & whistles. There was stuff about the car l did not know well after a year that l owned it. (remote windows, remote locking gas door, etc.)

l still get looks from it, & l will own it until it dies.

A good used one with low mileage should run u around $24-28 large.

l own a 2004 corvette & my girlfriend bought a 06 g35 coupe & we take it to Vegas from San Diego & it drives nice & has plenty of power. the only draw back is my corvette gets better gas mileage. the rpm indicator shows it at 3200 rpm at 75 miles per hour. it needs a better overdrive gear to get better gas mileage otherwise it can carry 3 suit cases & my golf clubs, my vette will carry 3 suit cases but not my clubs. hahahaha. we take her car. we averaged about 25 miles per gallon but we where going 80. my vette averages about 28 mpg. only 2000 rpm at 80 mph. this automobile is a better vehicle than any other coupe made including BMW & merc/Benz.

The G35 is a great car to own. Certainly not a piece of crap. Amazingly fun to drive, especially considering the relatively low cost.
The car does require premium unleaded, & the tires wear quickly (common for cars in the sports car segment). I've heard a lot of people complain about how quick the brakes wear, but my car is Brembos have gone 19000 miles & r still strong.
