G35 owners...what were others cars you were looking at before buying the G

l did not buy a G but l can tell u the cars to compare it to. the Lexus IS350 & the Acura TL r the first & two most obvious cars to compare to. l would also add the Nissan Maxima although it is from the same companies down scale brand it offers allot of options for a good price. Some would add the Lincoln MKZ & Cadillac CTS although they would not be in my consideration set. u can add some smaller German sedans as well they r more luxurious & higher quality but smaller. so l would look at.

Acura TL, Audi A4(v6 quattro) , BMW 328i, Infinity G35, Lexus IS 350, Mercedes C300, & the Volvo S60 2.5T. all of which r nice cars.

The two l looked at the most seriously when considering my G35 were the Acura TL & the Pontiac GTO. The Acura TL was very similar to the G35 in price, performance, & equipment. What turned me away from the Acura was the fact that it is a Front wheel drive car. If u want true performance out of a car with the power of these ones, u really need to go RWD, or AWD.
The Pontiac GTO was one of the few other Rear wheel drive stick shift sports/luxury coupes. But it lost out to the Infiniti in the luxury department.
l also looked at the Lexus IS300 (It was the older model since l was looking during the 04 model year), but by that time the IS300 was well behind the Infiniti in both styling & performance. The new IS is a great car, from what l have seen, so it would probably be a tough contender today.
Ostensibly, the BMW 3-series, Audi A4, & Volvo S60R r also in the same class, but they get much more expensive when equipped similarly.
