If u r considering an Infinity, & u r worried about paying for gas, l am gonna have to go with the fact that u can not realisticly afford this car.
No seriously, do what u want. l just bought a 2007 GMC Sierra Denali, 6.2 L V8, 403 hp. l get about 11 mpg. And it only runs on premium. A 70 dollar fillup usually goes about 300 - 350 miles.
It depends. l make them commas, so u know l had to have a murdered out slab son.
My advise is shine as hard as u can with what u got. And then sleep with as many women as u possibly can.

As much as l love my old Infiniti, I'd suggest you look at the Lexus RX hybrid. It is a little more expensive, but you get about 10 mpg more and you can feel good about helping our planet.
The styling of the FX and RX are very similar and you will be saving close for 40% on your gas bills. That is like taking the $3/gallon gas and making it $1.75.
You could also qualify for a $2k hybrid tax credit.

OOH, l love ur question. Have l GOT an answer for you. Twofold. Emotional, & financial. Let me explain. l HATE giving away my age, but this question IS important to me. IN 1962, CHEVY came out with the Impala SS, 409. 4 speed, dual quad, positraction 409. MORE than TWICE the speed of stink. 0 to FEAR in less than 6 SECONDS. l sealed the deal, BUT COULDN'T afford the insane insurance. Since then, I've mellowed out, A LITTLE bit. Not entirely. GIVEN the opportunity now, I'd sell my soul to the devil for it. The INFINITI'S FX35 V-6, r cooler than DRY ICE. IF it was do-able, I'D do it. I've learned, life is too short not to do it. I'd definitely squeeze it in, some how. I'd of lived, & been living in that SS409, if l knew then, what l know now. $3825 back then, translates out to $150,000, on Barrett-Jackson Auto Auctions, for what it is worth now. FX ON. You deserve it. You're younger than me. l say u deserve it.

l have a G35 coupe, it is basically the same engine as the FX35, the VQ engine. Basically l pay anywhere from $300-500 in gas a month, but l do drive alot. Thankfully my employer pays for most of my gas.
Even though this car has been more trouble than my old car (trusty Civic), l have not regretted it. It is required new brakes, soon new tires, & loads of gas in the few months since I've gotten it. l do take it to the track occasionally. My point is, u spend alot of time in ur car, u should buy something u enjoy, not something u can live with..but something u want to live with.
In the end is it expensive? Yeah it can be.even with good driving, it is hard to keep a V6 economical. l travel about 500 km a week, & spend about $100 - 150 a week on gas, where in the Civic l travelled the same milage, but only put in $30-60.

Like #2 said, if u gotta complain about the price of gas then u either drive too many miles (move closer to work) or can not afford the vehicle. $2.5-$3.5 per gallon gasoline is here to stay. If u really need a mid-size SUV with powerful V6 l suggest u look at the new Rav4 & save $5000+ with all the same features as the Infiniti & a couple miles more per gallon, Rav4 might be bigger then the FX35 too. Anytime u buy a luxury brand everything else (maintenance, insurance, gas, depreciation) is going to be higher then a traditional vehicle. The oxymoron is that if u drive alot of miles u think u deserve a more comfortable & expensive car since u will be using it more.of course that just ends up costing u even more, so depends on ur budget. You should not spend more then 1/2 of ur annual salary on a new car, unless u r single living home with mom/dad.
