No. Although the navigation box says DVD, it just means that is a DVD based navigation systems (early Infiniti models where not DVD based system).
What can you do? you can either buy and aftermarket or a factory DVD player and install it in your M.

l am pretty sure it can play DVDs but the car has to be in park for that to happen otherwise the DVD will not play.
