My 2006 G35 is a 5 speed automatic but it come with a Tiptronic Manual Shift Mode. The manual said that l can use 1m when driving in deep snow. Have anyone tried it? Does it make a big different? This is my first RWD so l have a lot of questions.
prius66, l got it as a birthday present.

l wanna know how to handle this car to minimize control lost. The manual said that l should use ''1m in a deep snow''.

Be careful, dude, when you get that baby in the snow, it will fishtail if you do not take it easy. Use the lower gear to limit your speed an increase your traction, while in the snow. Have fun.

l do not think you will ever take this car and drive in deep snow. What does your owner is manual suggest? Were you totally asleep when you bought the car? Usually the lower the gear you are in the slower you have to go.

On the g35 there is a VDC button which is ur vehicle dynamic control. The VDC is always on by default, however, if u turn that off u will more easily loose control of the rear of the vehicle. With that button on u will not be able to spin the wheels even in the snow. (traction control..) On the flip side, which requires a little more skill, is to turn the VDC off in the snow simply because sometimes u need the momentum of the wheels to spin to keep the car moving but doing so shuts off most of the safety features putting the responsibility more on the driver. With VDC on u can not do this. Typically a front wheel or AWD vehicle is much better in the snow. As far as 1m manual mode. l have not read the book but l can see how that may be helpful in maintaining a steady RPM at a lower seep of course. In 1m u probably do not want to exceed 10-15 MPH.. I've been selling Infiniti now for 3 years. Hope this helps

IF YOU PLAN ON DRIVING IN THE SNOW MAKE SURE AS A MINIMUM TO HAVE ALL-SEASON TIRES, EVEN BETTER BUY A SET OF SNOW TIRES (SET 0F 4). YOUR TRACTION CONTROL WILL HELP YOU-- JUST KEEP YOUR SPEED DOWN. ADD A LITTLE WEIGHT IN TRUNK WILL HELP. DO NOT LOWER AIR PRESSURE IN TIRES.
