Yes eventually, and all the other Nissan/Infiniti models that use the VQ35 will make the transition to the VQ37.

To Brad below: The G Sedan is NOT 'based' around the bland Acura TL. Infiniti successfully aims and competes directly with the BMW 3-Series. The TL is severely outmatched in this class, and will always be (cough) (FWD). Everything else you said made sense though.

Yes, and im pumped. The G37 coupe and sedan was unveiled at the new york auto show a couple weeks back, its a bit longer and less agressive stance but still baller.

The G35 Sedan was just updated last year, so there will not be any significant changes for 2008.it will NOT receive the 3.7l engine for 2008, but perhaps at a later date.

The G35 sedan will eventually transition to the G37 but not for 2008. Only the coupe for now. Everything seems to be getting bigger, stronger, and faster nowadays. l wished l leased my 2006 G35. = (

Not for the 2008 model year but it is possible in the future but not a definate. Nissans release of the HR line of the VQ series engine (in this case the VQ35HR in the Sedan and VQ37HR in the Coupe) the sedan was intended to have less power then the coupe to elevate the coupe into being more of a sports car. it is however planned that this engine will be in the next Z car as well as a variant will be going into the Nissan GT-R with the addition of Twin Turbos.

No, that would not make any sense. That probably wo not happen until Acura comes out with the new TL that could perhaps have the J37 found in the MDX. l mean, it makes sense that Infiniti would base the G around the TL, since when the new TL came out the G was its closest competitor/ vice versa.

However, Nissan has trademarked the names ''FX37'' & ''M37''. But my guess is that u wo not see any of those until their VK45 is given the ''HR'' treatment, since the FX37 would actually have more HP in the 3.7L than the current 4.5L (330 vs. 320).

To Tony B above: Test drive even a non Type-S TL back to back with a BMW 328i & tell me which is the more bland car. If u had read the 3-car comparison in Road & Track of the TL Type-S vs. Lexus IS350 vs. G35, u will note the TL actually had greater slalom speed than even the new G35, meaning that FWD obviously is not that much of a limiting factor on handling. To keep up, it is a safe bet that in '09 the new TL will have SH-AWD. But fair enough, it is definately a safe bet that Infiniti aims more at BMW than Acura (which is another reason they wo not put the VQ37 in the G sedan: the current G is engine is a perfect match the BMW 335's).

The G35 is loosely based on the Nissan 350Z, so it can better compete with the BMW 3 series.

Sorry, but the 3 Series is the overall better car. Look at the 2007 BMW 328i Sport. It is a little slower, but not much. It simply outclasses all Japaness cars.
