how to remove the shift knob from a 06 infiniti G35 coupe manual

Most shift knobs twist off. Some have a screw that tightens around the shifter that has to be loosened first, usually with a small allen wrench. Also sometimes car companies put loctite or a sealer on the threads.

You can twist it off, this is much easier said than done. There is definitely loctite on the threads. They way we have had to do it in the past with Zs and Gs is have someone under the car hold int the linkage with a wrench so it wo not flex, and twisting the shift knob with a rag over with all of you possible strength.

l am not a big guy, but l am decently strong, and they are a beast! Hopefully yours is easier than the ones l have experienced.

wow. you think for spending over 30k on a car they could make it easy for you? not happening. the threads have loctite on them which is a major headache. you need to get under the car and hold the shifter while someone strong twists on the knob. if your just going to throw the old knob away, use a pipe wrench..it helps alot.
