The ''Tornado'' will give you a VERY MARGINAL increase, maybe a mile per gallon. l had one and could not tell a real difference.

NO, NO, NO!!! DON'T get the tornado. In tests after tests it has been shown in independent test that tornado DO NOT WORK. Not only do they not help, they HURT ur MPG. PERIOD.

As they tested it on TV show MythBusters (on Tornado), if these devices worked, they would already come installed on ur car & they would sell more cars!

What works is stuff that improves performance (like low Resistance air filter, short air intakes, exhaust headers, better exhaust - like fatter pipes). But downside is that it makes ur car louder.

Of the above the cheapest & probably the most effective upgrade would be the short air intake & the low restriction air filters. I've done this & it is not that much louder.

Do not u think the engineers at Nissan have done everything within reason to ensure that their cars get the best mileage without sacrificing performance?

As previous posters have said, keep ur tires properly inflated. Make sure ur air filter is not too dirty, change the oil using the grade specified in the manual for ur climate, use a high octane fuel so that the knock sensor does not have to reduce the engine power. Also, drive conservatively: do not floor it to redline, coast when the light ahead is red, etc.

There r no parts that drastically improve mileage. If there were, u would already know about them!

l drive a `97 I30 (VQ30DE) 3.0L 190HP & get 24 MPG from about 75% city 25% highway. l could probably get 27-28 mpg if l did not drive 75-80MPH on the highway.

Weight Watchers and a good personality also help.
