I've got an '04 G35 coupe and was wondering if there was something l can get like a chip or cold air intake that might increase my mpg.I am not really concerned with gaining horsepower, but getting more mpg would be great since l drive about 25k miles per year.

A car that is in tiptop running condition is a better gas saver than a car that isn't. A tune-up for a car that is badly out of tune (even a newer car) can increase ur mileage by as much as 20 percent. Also, a car with incorrect wheel alignment will have increased road resistance which wastes gas. Have ur technician check ur car is alignment & adjust it if necessary.
Even if you're not a do-it-yourselfer, there is gas-saving maintenance u can do on ur own. For example, check the air pressure of ur car is tires at least once a month to be sure they're inflated to the pressures recommended in ur owner is manual. Underinflated tires r a major cause of poor fuel economy, costing u up to one mile per gallon. Cars equipped with radial tires get better mileage than cars equipped with bias-ply tires. But u should never mix the two types.

It is also important to have a clean air filter. Clogged, dirty filters cut off ur engine is air supply. This causes a higher fuel-to-air ratio & increases gasoline consumption. Change the air filter at the interval recommended in ur owner is manual or if it looks dirty.

For better gas mileage, use a multigrade motor oil recommended by ur car is manufacturer. Also, select an energy conserving (EC) oil identified by an Energy Conserving or Energy Conserving 11 imprint in the AP l (American Petroleum Institute) symbol on the motor oil container. An EC-rated multigrade oil can improve ur gas mileage by 1.5% over a typical single grade motor oil. An EC I l rating indicates an improvement of 2.7% over the single. grade oil.
Remember, it is not good to jump at one estimate just because it is the lowest. A lower price may mean shoddy work. Know what u r paying for & what the estimate includes.

In short, make sure you're comparing apples to apples when comparing estimates

The best way to get good gas mileage is to drive normal within speed limits, no jack rabbit starts, using less air conditioning & maintain regulus tune ups.

The car already is tune to get the best mileage with the best driving habits. If u really wanted to save gas mileage get a 4 cylinder or a hybrid not a 6 cylinder. People get these types of cars because they r not worried about gas mileage but want the fun factor.

Every notice sports cars always have the worst mileage?

I've used the attached web site is product. It is an additive to your gas (1 ounce per tank full), that will boost your mpg at least 11%. l get about 26% increase. l have a Rav4 that usually gets 23 mpg, but with the ca40g, l get about 29 mpg.

ok listen the mpg thing is a scam!!!! why buy a small compact car & the person who buys it loves to go 80 mph on the high way?? why do u think they r still making these huge SUV's? because its to get the people to buy the small cars! in ur case stop worrying about it. if u wanted to get more mpg out of a car thats not even built for that kind of thing. then all l have to say is go slower. other than that mpg is bull crap!!!!! infiniti is a high end car.. they dont care about mpg! l havent seen a infiniti commerical about mpg yet..SOOO???? what does that tell u?

Hey l have an 05' G coupe, & l was averaging like 17 mpg.

l went out & bought the K&N drop in filter & I've seen a 3 mpg increase. Also, make sure u run Mobil 1 pure syn 5W-30.

Most of the time my driving is in the city so thats actually quite a bit. Also, if u r really interest in our cars getting better mpg, first & foremost, shift at like 3K rpm with a stickshift or drive really lightly, if u r rolling around at like 4K rpm u r gonna get pretty bad mpg. Also speed less, if u drive at like 70 mph, u will get much better highway mileage.

Sum it up:
1. K&N drop in filter (40 bucks)
2. Mobil1 fully synthetic oil (buy it at walmart to save getting raped by the dealer if u change ur oil there)
3. Shift at lower rpm (aka dont drive it like u stole it)
4. Dont speed excessively

These should help bump u up into the 22-23 mpg range on the highway because thats what it seems like u drive most of the time.

You should not drive really fast. Take it easy on the road.
