l have only 14,000! miles and l drive mostly city, and l only get about 275 miles on a tank of gas! thats like getting 13 mpg. which is really bad.
i need help! what do l need to do? check? or fix.

Thanks!

If u drive mostly in the city, 13mpg is probably better than most people get with their '04 G35. The advertised MPG city/highway r not actually tested, they r estimates based on a very skewed & typically incompetent government calculations. They rated it at 18mpg on city streets.. what a joke.

During real road testing the '04 G35 only averaged 15.4mpg combined: http://edmunds.com/insideline/do/Drives/Followup/articleId=101472 This means that city driving ''mpg'' is really bad!

My experience with government listed MPG is; the city (which is the lowest) will probably be the best that u will ever get in perfect open road conditions.

check your tires and run them at MAX cold PS l - it will ride harder but the mpg is worth it. Also, check your air filter or just buy a K&N Lifetime filter. They wo not clog and you just rinse them out and reoil them every couple years. You may also try premium gas to see if it helps the mpg any - usual helps on cars that have auto adjusting timing to take advantage of the higher octane.

l get about 60 miles on a quater tank with mine.once l got 70, but thats because l did not press on the gas hard..

thats as much as you can get.

if you have a SHort ram intake installed in the summer.it will decrease your mpg..you need a cold air intake for summer. ( performance wise )

OK its your tires, bad fuel, your air filter, ant the oil you use.
l would say upgrading to a fujita cold air intake cause you will gain hp and torque while gaining at least 3 mpg.
theres alot of things you can do to the vq35de engine to get better mpg while adding power
email me for more.

You're doing well for a 3.5 liter engine.
