First look at kbb.com and make sure that you are paying a fair price. A lot will depend on the mileage. According to Consumer Reports, a 2005 G35 should cost $18K - $20K and it has a better repair history than the 2004 (brake problems).

Look at Craigslist, cars.com, or autotrader.com. Do you want a coupe or sedan? Sedans are around that price; coupes are several thousand more. l just sold my 2004 coupe for $24.5K because it had the 6-spd and Brembo brakes.
