they usually get changed at 90-100K they should have an inspection cover where u can have a mechanic inspect them
Figures a car salesmen would say something like that..timing belts do not squeal! They do not make any noise before they break.they just break & it costs u THOUSANDS to fix the damage afterward. get them inspected.
mslewis.. l owned a Q45 & it definitely had a belt. They may have gone to a chain at some point but not all Infiniti have chains. great cars though. My q was really fast for a car of that size. But then l bought my first Volvo & l am a convert. My S80 is a dream

l sell cars for a living. Very rarely does a dealer change a belt before sale.
l also would not recommend changing it unless it is squeeling or something.
If it ai not broke, do not fix it!

Well l dont know either because the person who had it before you may have changed it. The best thing to do is take a flash light and look at the belt. When you nice tiny little cracks in it, that means its time for a change. Also, when its time for you next oil change, most shops will do an inspection of those things and notify you. If they do not just ask.

you did not say what kind of belt it is, but with a car with that many belts l would change them all. also, ask to speak to the general manager or owner of the dealer if you really want to know the answer to your question.

Find yourself either an owners manual or a service manual--it will tell you when things need to be serviced. A service manual, however, will tell you WHAT needs to be serviced. But if you're not mechanically inclined, or rather only THINK you're mechanically inclined, please please take it to a trained technician. It will cost you less in the end..trust me.

change it now!!!!! that way you know when it was changed. If you wait it will break and then you will be spending alot of money to fix it

first thing first. when you buy a used car remember to always give it a tune up, because most places do not do that. also if you have that many miles and want to have the car a long time which ever belt you are talking about change it. then you will know what you put in it. keep notes on what you have done. it might be worth it in the long run.

Marjo is correct change it now, Car dealers do not change anything on cars they have there own mechanics that make the car go nothing else, assuming its the Timing belt it is to be changed at 100.000kms thats why the car is at the dealers, if you like the car change the belt it will be better to do that then wait for it to break and dont forget to change the oil. If its Black give it back, if its yellow its Mellow.

Most infiniti is have a TIMING CHAIN AND NOT BELTS. they need to be adjusted but not changed. if it is an 99 to 08 you should have any issues with it . car is engine will not usually die unless previous owner has really abused it. take it to a dealership and have them run a diagnostic on the car to make sure nothing is wrong ( beyond normal wear and tear on a car with 136k miles )
