Ummmm. Hyundai has been stealing designs and ideas for many many years now.. it is nothing new. They take a lexus, bmw, infiniti, mercedes, and acura and slap them together for the exterior. they make some kinda cheap plastic interior then they put in a drivetrain that will break in 3 months all backed up by a 10 year warrantee... What is new?

Is nothing new. Most copycat stuff comes from Asia. Like any Japanese car they try to make them look like BMWs or Mercedes Benz, but deep inside still the same entry level car with more gadgets to it. The Kia Amanti is almost a Jag copycat & the newer ones r more like a Benz. So Japanese cars can somewhat copy Euro looks but the Korean can not Japanese looks. oh well talk about double standards.

So what else is new.

By the way, u can not patent numbers & letters, but name u can. Example, Intel changed the naming convention from x86 series to Pentium for the same reasons. Other manufacturers followed the x386, x486, x586 type of naming. So i30 so what ! Is just a letter with a number.

l seriously doubt that Infiniti/Nissan feels threatened by a lame company like Hyundai.

Doubt it & why would they want to? The Infiniti I30 has been out of production for a few years now. The Hyundai I30 is sold in India & a few other countries where Infiniti products r not even available. Like u said, BMW tried it & u can not sue a company for using the same letter on their car. Now if Infiniti put out a car called the Camry, then Toyota could sue or Toyota put out a sports car called 350ZX they could be sued by Nissan if those were done in the same markets the original was sold in.
