what do you think of Nissan renaming Nissan skyline to infinti skyline?

It is not a big surprise since Infiniti was founded in 1989 by Nissan. They're their luxury car version for us in America. And Hiroshi Hasegawa designed both the 2008 Nissan Skyline GT-R and the 2008 Infiniti G35 so go figure.

The Infiniti brand was introduced in the United States in 1989. Its purpose back then, as it is now, was to create & sell premium vehicles in the United States that would not have otherwise fit in with Nissan is more mainstream image.

its all marketing. l mean if they sold the g35 as a nissan in the states it would obviously cost less so they made it an infiniti to make some more money. But a g35 is a skyline basically, except for the right hand drive same everything.

Nah, all Infiniti are a re-badged Datsun. So what is the big deal, take a Datsun and place a Pac Man facing down.

The previous statement is true. Take a Nissan (Datsun) and name it that way for marketing purpose so rich folks does not feel embrassed to drive a Datsun to a Country Club. Same goes with Toyota.
