We are looking at a used 1998 with 89k on it right now and most reviews say it is a very reliable vehicle, but l have not seen anything past 100k miles.

QX4 is a very reliable vehicle. It is a hot commodity. It all comes down to how well the owner kept the car updated. Test drive it and get it looked at by a mechanic first. 1998 with that low of miles should last you another 100k miles as long as you maintain it well.

l had a customer once that had a 2001 QX4 and thought that if they lease they don`t have to change the oil. The truck made it to 27,000 miles. The 98` is a good truck but make sure the timing belt was replaced at 100k and the radio was repaired, the 2001 got the much needed bigger engine and had a timing chain so no service is needed.
