An Infiniti G35 coupe (2005) or a 2005 BMW 5 series. Which would you rather go for?
I've got a wife and a 1 year old son at the moment so do not mind a coupe. Just a bit unsure as to which is a better car to own.................in terms of looks, maintainance, durability, insurance, etc.
l understand both cars are quite different but these just happen to be the cars l love.........and can afford.

Personally l would and have gone for the G35. They are both nice cars, but l purchased an '05 6MT and love it. l considered a 3 series, but they are almost common. Every where l drive my car l get head turns (last week from a guy in a 6 series!). The ride is going to be rougher in the coupe, but it is a sports car. Durability is good as the 3.5 v6 has been rated in Ward is ten best of engines for over the past 10 years. Hope l was some help.

Really? The 5-series. Absolutely. No respectable new father has a G35 and then puts a baby in that thing. Adulthood is calling and it wants to know why your inner 20-something is still pining for the poor man is sports car. The 5-series is reliable, durable (trust me), and far more luxurious. Plus it has a back seat for the child and leg room you can actually use.

l have driven both cars.
The Infiniti is more reliable, much faster, much better handling & sounds better.
The Infiniti G35 Coupe is the same car as a Nissan 350z, except that it has small back seats. And the G35 coupe is low to the ground & the front bumper always hits driveways.

The BMW 5 series is more comfortable & quiet, but it failed the side crash tests so it is not a safe car.
The Ergonomics r also bad. The radio buttons & and door handles r not in a convenient place.
The Arm Rest on the door is also slanted & annoying.

Both cars r RWD so they r slippery in rain & impossible to drive in snow.

I'd choose the 5-Series. The G Coupe is not that great until 2007.

If those r the only choices then I've got to go with the 530/535 model since it is a 4-door car & you'd be an idiot to buy a 2 door coupe where u have to struggle to get ur kid into his car seat everyday. Why not just get the G35 sedan, they r much cheaper used then the coupe? l would choose that over the 5 series car for ur situation & u can get a 2006 model for the same price as the 2005 coupe. BMW is r more expensive to maintain & get fewer mpgs then Infiniti. You might want to check out the Nissan Maxima too since u r looking for a luxury sport sedan & the 2009 Hyundai Sonata was just released also worth a look.
